Dear JDES Families

As the PTA, we try to keep our families as informed as possible, but the best way to keep up with what is happening with the Jackson Davis Elementary School Community is to get involved!  We are in the process of creating the 2011-12 PTA Board and we need new board members.  Like our student body, many of our volunteers move on with their child to middle school so we need to refresh the board every year.  Please consider helping us out in the next school year and send back this form with your name and contact information.

FAQ:

1.       Can I hold a position and work full time?

Yes, most of our board members hold a full time or part time job

2.       Do single parents ever serve on the board?

Yes, we have single parents serving on the board

3.       Can I pair up with a friend and hold a position?

Yes, many friends work together to hold one position.

4.       Do I have to be a Mom to be on the board?

No, we love to have Dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles and anyone concerned about our JDES community.

5.       Does it take a lot of time?

Yes and no—it depends on the position.  Some can be done from home and some require your presence at school.  Some positions are seasonal and some require some effort for most of the year.  Some positions work well if you decide to do them with a friend.  Explore what position would be the right fit for you.    The time you donate to actively participate in an organization that helps build a community at a place where your child has to spend his/her time is time well spent.  Working together we build a stronger community and demonstrate to our children that we care about where they go every day.
